Wrap Around Care

At Alvaston Junior Academy, we provide high-quality Wrap Around Care to help support our families with flexible, affordable childcare. Our friendly, nurturing provision offers children a calm, happy start and end to their school day.

Opening Times and Prices

Breakfast Club

• Opens at 7.30am

• £4.50 per session

• Entry via the side door near the main hall and school reception.

After School Club

• Open until 6.00pm

• £6 per session

• A late collection charge applies after 6.05pm (£5 for every 5 minutes).

All places must be booked and paid for via ParentPay 48 hours in advance. We also accept childcare vouchers and HMRC tax-free childcare schemes.

What We Offer

Breakfast Club

• Healthy breakfast choices such as cereals, toast, bagels and fruit.

• Dietary needs are catered for — please speak to staff if your child requires special options.

• Calm start to the day before being escorted to class at 8.40am.

After School Club

• A wide variety of activities including:

- Arts & crafts

- Board games & puzzles

- Construction toys

- Outdoor play (weather permitting)

- Dance, films & sports

• Opportunities to mix with children from all year groups and make new friends.

Safety & Safeguarding

The safety and well-being of all children is our priority.

• Children are signed in and out of each session.

• Only authorised adults may collect children.

• Our staff follow the academy’s safeguarding and health & safety policies.

• If a child becomes ill or injured, trained first aid staff will contact parents/carers.

• In an emergency closure (e.g. severe weather), parents will be contacted to collect their child.

Inclusion

We welcome all children and aim to meet a wide range of needs. If a child’s needs cannot be safely met within the club, we will work closely with parents/carers to review the provision.

Behaviour

We follow the AJA Behaviour Policy and STARS rules. Persistent poor behaviour may result in a place being withdrawn after discussions with parents/carers.
