Our Pupil Leaders
At Alvaston Junior Academy, we have a range of Pupil Leadership groups who play active roles in the daily life of the school.
Our School Council represents all pupils at Alvaston Junior Academy with a boy and a girl elected for each class. The School Council plays an important role by sharing the views of their peers on changes and improvements which need to be made within the academy. School Councillors must be trustworthy, honest, well-mannered and patient; they are role models to others and represent the academy in a variety of different situations.
Digital Leaders are children with a passion for technology who want to share their knowledge with others, and promote the use of all things digital throughout the school. They provide support to teachers and peers throughout the school. The Digital Leaders will be setting up a blog on Purple Mash to keep everyone up to date with all things digital, and reminders about online safety. Being a Digital Leader is a fantastic opportunity to take on responsibility and demonstrate leadership skills.
We are proud of the Digital Leaders for working together to achieve the Bronze i-vengers award. Congratulations!
Well Being Ambassadors
The Well Being ambassadors at Alvaston work closely with the Mental Health lead in school, to ensure that we are doing all that we can to support pupils and adults with their mental health.
They work together to plan activities for whole school events, such as 'Children's Mental Health Week'. The well being ambassadors complete their daily reflective journals to a high standard and are advocates for celebrating a healthy, well balanced lifestyle. Well being leads meet to discuss strategies that we could use in school to help with mental health with recent suggestions being 'Mindfulness' activities and 'Well being Wednesday.'
