‘It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently’.

At Alvaston Junior Academy, we aim to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for our whole school community: children, staff and families.  We want to support you, our parents and carers, as the most important influence on our children at school. Help us, help you, help us! Working as a team with you is the best way we can support our children socially, emotionally as well as academically.

Our staff are here to support:

Mrs Patmore (Deputy Principal and Mental Health and Wellbeing lead)

Kpatmore01@alvaston.theharmonytrust.org

Mrs Dixon (Pupil and Family Worker)

Tdixon01@alvaston.theharmonytrust.org

are here to help if you need to chat or want some advice.

We have provided parents and visitors to our website with a range of resources and information to support healthy wellbeing.  Please take time to look at these as there are lots of helplines and a great deal of advice to support families.

Anna Freud: National Centre for Children

This leaflet which was created alongside the Talking Mental Health Animation & Toolkit features an introduction from our Patron, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge who supported the You're never too young to talk mental health campaign stating the campaign's resources "demonstrate how we can help children express their feelings, respond appropriately, and prevent small problems from snowballing into bigger ones.
